By the time Orson Welles went to Brazil to work for Nelson Rockfeller, he had acted in Ireland, been a matador, founded the Mercury Theater, conquored Broadway, and had frightened the whole nation with a radio show, THE WAR OF THE WORLDS. He had made two classic films, CITIZEN KANE ( some say the greatest film of all time) and THE MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS. He was 28. By 28, everything  he had done had turned to gold. No success was Denied him. After Brazil, he never had success again.
